In 2006 I returned from my last mission with Medecins Sans Frontieres, for which I worked in several war zones and set up projects after natural disasters. I realised how much I lost ‘ground under my feet’ and how fragmented my life had become while living and working in hectic, stressful and sometimes threatening environments. This is the moment when I embarked for my journey of embodiment, including Reichian breathwork. It became a journey of coming home in myself and my body.
The Biodynamic Breathwork & Trauma Release System has touched me deeply for its deep and profound transformational power. The combination of breath, movement, conscious touch, expression, emotional and physical releases and (active) meditation has taken me even deeper inside. It taught me to navigate with power and softness. I am fascinated by how the body works and the mutual influence between mind, heart and body.
In addition to BBTRS, my work is a.o. inspired by OSHO, rebirthing and inner child work, Almaas’ essence series, constellation and systemic work, somatic experience, Reichian character types, tantra, intuitive dance and movement, InterPlay, Social Presencing Theater.
I am available for individual sessions for body-oriented trauma therapy and breathwork. I also run a bi-weekly breathcircle in Amersfoort (Netherlands). Irregularly, breathcircles and embodiment workshops are scheduled in other places of the Netherlands. Check out website.
