Kingfisher Bay Resort is a beautiful, eco-certified resort found on K’Gari. Rooms are perched amongst K’Gari’s rainforest, overlooking ponds and forest canopies.
After purchasing your conference ticket. Please book your accomodation package. These are separate tickets and both are essential to attend the conference. No alternative accomodation options are available.
Accommodation packages include an accomodation fee and delegate meals/ferry transfer/conference facilities fee. The full accomodation packages start at $1309 per person (without breakfast) and $1489 (with breakfast) include:

- morning tea, lunches and dinners (optional breakfast)
- full access to resort facilities
- ferry transfers
- bonus sunset cruise.
The resort’s facilities include:
- three swimming pools;
- bars & games room;
- three restaurants (both formal and casual);
- wellness centre & general store; &
- plenty of nature and walks around the island.
ACCOMMODATION
Nestled into the island’s landscape, the resort’s Queenslander-style rooms and villas are peaceful and private – linked by walkways that meander through World Heritage-listed surrounds while still just a short stroll to the Centre Complex.
These spacious and comfortable rooms and villas are the perfect sanctuary – immerse yourself in nature and retreat from the noise of the busy world with an island escape. Start your day by relaxing with tea or coffee on your private balcony while being serenaded by the island’s native birds.
Room rates vary depending on how many people share a room. It is recommended that attendees pre-arrange roommates before booking with Kingfisher Bay Resort. If you are unable to organise a roommate, then please contact the GIC team for assistance (available for twin-share resort rooms only; delegates who wish to share a villa will need to pre-organise their group prior to booking).

About K’Gari
K’Gari (formally known as Fraser Island) is on the lands of the Butchulla People. K’Gari translates as paradise in the Butchulla language and is home to their sacred animals, such as the Animal King – the dingo, or Wongari. The Butchulla People are the traditional owners and custodians of K’Gari.
As a UNESCO world heritage site, K’Gari has lots to offer. It is the largest sand island in the world, meaning it has a unique ecosystem not seen anywhere else on earth.
