The Hellenic Breathwork Union (HBU) is a growing community of more than 60 Breathwork practitioners, facilitators, and friends of Breathwork across Greece, united by a shared vision of conscious breathing as a path of connection, self-awareness, and transformation.
HBU was founded in Athens in 2024 by 22 initial members. It operates as a non-profit association open to everyone — both professionals and non-professionals — who share an interest in conscious breathing and the development of Breathwork in Greece.
As a sociocratic organization, we value collaboration, transparency, shared responsibility, equivalence, and collective wisdom in the way we organize, communicate, and evolve as a community.
Our vision is a world where conscious breathing is integrated into everyday life as a natural practice of self-healing, presence, wellbeing, and human connection.
Our mission is to cultivate an inclusive and supportive Breathwork community in Greece by promoting Conscious Connected Breathwork through education, ethical professional standards, collaboration, research, and public awareness. We are dedicated to supporting both individuals and professionals while contributing to the recognition, accessibility, and healthy development of the field in Greece and internationally.
Our aims for the coming years are to strengthen the Breathwork community in Greece, support the professional development of facilitators, establish ethical and educational standards, encourage scientific research around Breathwork, create collaborative spaces and public events, and contribute to the wider recognition of conscious breathing as a valuable tool for personal and collective wellbeing.
