Riomattá is a School of Holistic Practices, and our flagship offering is a 300-hour Trauma-Informed Breathwork Facilitator Certification. We believe breathwork facilitation can’t be taught fully online, nor can it be rushed into a weekend, so the training unfolds over eight months of weekly live online classes, and partway through we come together for a 12-day, 100-hour in-person immersion where students practise facilitating with one another and deepen their own relationship with the breath. Afterwards we return to our online classes, which gives everyone time to integrate what moved in person before the training comes to a close.
Being trauma informed sits at the heart of how we teach. We draw a clear line between being trauma aware and being trauma informed, and students learn to hold sessions where safety and pacing come before intensity, where the person breathing is always free to slow down or stop, and where their own body stays the authority on what feels right for them.
Alongside our core faculty, guest teachers bring their experience in neuroscience and psychotherapy, and ethics and inclusion run as a thread through the whole training.
We keep each cohort to a maximum of 20 students so that everyone is properly seen. Every student has a mentor with weekly check-ins and a monthly one-to-one call, and assessment is continuous throughout the training rather than resting on a single final exam.
If you’re curious whether the training is right for you, you’re welcome to book a discovery call with us through riomatta.com.
300-Hour Trauma-Informed Breathwork Teacher Training (TTC) Our 300-hour Trauma-Informed Breathwork Teacher Training is a comprehensive and integrative programme designed to train skilled, ethical, and embodied breathwork facilitators. The training consists of 200 hours of online learning and 100 hours of in-person immersion, combining flexible study with deep experiential practice. Rooted in trauma-informed principles, the course emphasises nervous system awareness, safety, consent, and inclusive facilitation. Students are trained to recognise and respond to trauma, support emotional regulation, and create grounded, supportive spaces for individuals and groups. The curriculum integrates breathwork techniques, somatic practices, and facilitation skills, including session design, music integration, and group leadership. A strong emphasis is placed on personal embodiment, self-inquiry, and experiential learning throughout the training. Participants are assessed through a combination of practical facilitation, case studies, and supervised practice. Ongoing mentorship and feedback are provided to support integration, skill development, and professional readiness. Graduates leave equipped to deliver 1:1 and group breathwork sessions with confidence, professionalism, and trauma-informed integrity.
