Verónica Sánchez is a Uruguayan Breathwork and Somatic Therapy facilitator, Reiki Master, and Numerology practitioner currently based in Koh Phangan, Thailand, working internationally through individual sessions, groups, workshops, and retreats.
Her path into healing and embodiment came after more than 25 years in the corporate world. Originally trained as an accountant, Verónica built a successful international career before feeling called toward a very different way of living and working. At the age of 37, she left Uruguay and moved to Thailand, where her exploration of yoga, meditation, energy work, spirituality, and different healing traditions gradually transformed both her personal life and professional direction.
Breathwork became one of the most significant elements of this journey. Through her own experiences, she discovered the extraordinary capacity of the breath to access emotions, body memories, expanded states of awareness, and parts of ourselves that can sometimes be difficult to reach through the mind alone.
She later trained as a Breathwork & Trauma Awareness Facilitator and continued her education in Somatic Therapy, developing an approach that combines Conscious Connected Breathwork with nervous system awareness, embodiment, movement, intuitive and somatic touch, energy work, and practices inspired by the meridian system of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Verónica's work is also influenced by her South American roots and several years of personal experience with ceremonial plant medicine traditions, including Ayahuasca, Huachuma, and sacred mushrooms. She has also supported plant medicine ceremonies as an assistant and space holder, experiences that have deeply influenced her understanding of ceremony, intention, music, voice, ritual, nature, and the responsibility involved in holding space for transformational processes.
Today, these different paths come together in the way she facilitates breathwork. Her sessions may incorporate elements such as music, intuitive movement, chanting, drumming, grounding, ritual, energy awareness, and somatic exploration, while maintaining a trauma-aware approach and respect for each person's individual boundaries and process.
She has experience supporting and facilitating individual sessions, group breathwork journeys, retreats, singing circles, cacao and ceremonial spaces, and has worked with participants from diverse cultural backgrounds while living and traveling internationally.
At the center of Verónica's work is a simple belief: the facilitator is not the healer. Her role is to create a safe, grounded, and compassionate space where people can reconnect with their bodies, listen to their own inner wisdom, and discover the resources already within themselves.
Through her work, she hopes to bridge different worlds — breath and body, ancient and contemporary practices, structure and intuition, science and spirituality — supporting people in returning to a deeper relationship with themselves.
For Verónica, breathwork is not only something she facilitates. It is part of the path that changed her own life, and one she continues to explore with curiosity, humility, and respect.
My approach to breathwork is trauma-aware, somatic, intuitive, and deeply rooted in the creation of safe and intentional spaces. I see the breath not simply as a technique, but as a bridge between the body, emotions, nervous system, and deeper layers of our inner experience.
At the heart of my work is Conscious Connected Breathwork, supported by my training in Breathwork and Trauma Awareness and Somatic Therapy. I integrate body awareness, grounding, movement, nervous system regulation, and gentle therapeutic touch when appropriate. My approach is client-centered: rather than applying the same process to everyone, I listen carefully to the individual, their body, their boundaries, and what is emerging in the moment.
My work has also been deeply influenced by my South American roots and several years of personal experience within traditional and ceremonial plant medicine spaces, including work with Ayahuasca, Huachuma, and sacred mushrooms. More recently, I have supported these ceremonies as an assistant, helping to hold space for participants as they move through intense emotional, physical, energetic, and spiritual processes.
These experiences have taught me the importance of ceremony, intention, presence, music, ritual, connection with nature, and above all, the responsibility involved in creating and maintaining a well-held container for transformational experiences. They have also taught me that facilitating deep inner work is not about directing another person's process, but about remaining grounded, attentive, and present while trusting the individual's own inner intelligence.
This background contributes a strong ceremonial and shamanic-informed dimension to my breathwork practice. Through my own personal journey, I have experienced how breathwork can open the door to profound non-ordinary states of consciousness, emotional release, insights, visions, and deeply transformative experiences that, for me, have sometimes carried similarities to experiences encountered within plant medicine ceremonies.
Because of this, I bring elements of ceremonial space-holding into my breathwork sessions. My experience with plant medicine traditions has influenced the way I work with intention, ritual, music, voice, chanting, drumming, movement, silence, connection with the elements, and the creation of a carefully held energetic and physical space. These elements are not separate from my approach; they form part of the container I create around the breathwork journey.
I see breathwork as an extraordinarily powerful modality in its own right. The breath can become a gateway into layers of ourselves that we may not normally access through our everyday state of consciousness. Rather than directing or forcing this process, my role is to create a grounded, trauma-aware, and supportive environment in which each person's experience can unfold organically while respecting their boundaries, beliefs, capacity, and individual process.
Alongside breathwork and somatic therapy, my background includes Reiki and bodywork inspired by the meridian system of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This allows me to approach each person from different perspectives while keeping the breath, embodiment, safety, and personal agency at the center of the session.
What distinguishes my work is the meeting of different worlds: structured breathwork training and trauma awareness, somatic listening and nervous system regulation, energy work, and the ceremonial wisdom that has influenced my personal and professional path.
My South American heritage is also an important part of this approach. It has influenced the way I understand healing and transformation not only as an individual process, but as something that can involve our relationship with community, nature, ritual, voice, music, the body, and a deeper sense of connection.
Whether I am working one-to-one, facilitating groups, or supporting retreats, my intention is to create a grounded, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where people feel safe enough to explore themselves without being pushed toward a particular outcome.
I do not consider myself the healer of another person. I see my role as a facilitator and space holder: someone who creates the conditions for people to listen more deeply to their bodies, reconnect with their own inner resources, and allow their own process to unfold.
For me, breathwork is ultimately a practice of remembering — returning to the body, returning to presence, and reconnecting with the innate intelligence that already lives within us.
