United Nations Workgroup (extended)
We are excited to introduce you to the United Nations Work Group. The IBF holds consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations (UN). This recognition allows IBF to contribute to global initiatives, advocating for the transformative power of conscious breathing on humanity and our planet.
Our Work Group objectives:
Nurture relationships with aligned organisations and UN bodies: to collectively amplify the impact of conscious breathing initiatives.
Contribute to relevant UN meetings: sharing our experience to raise awareness of conscious breathing’s benefits on a global scale.
Support and promote IBF initiatives on the UN platform: showcasing the vital role breathwork plays in addressing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Raise awareness of the SDGs within our community: advocating for initiatives that align with these goals, we contribute to the collective effort to “end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity” (UN, 2015)
Present a comprehensive report to ECOSOC every four years: renewing our consultative status.
Our initiatives:
We created Conscious Breathing for Trauma Recovery to provide simple and effective, free online conscious breathing education for refugees, healthcare workers, staff and volunteers of relief organisations. The programme was extended to include anyone suffering from trauma, anxiety, burnout, or depression and is now available online.
Join the UN Team:
We are seeking passionate and committed members with diverse perspectives, leadership, diplomacy, and communication skills. Certification as a breathwork practitioner is essential. Desirable skills include NGO interaction, public relations, social media, copywriting and infographic creation.
Together, we can create positive change, promote well-being and contribute to a sustainable future. Join us in making a meaningful impact.
If you feel called to join the group or have a conscious breathing initiative to tell us about, we would be delighted to hear from you.
In love and light,
The IBF United Nations Workgroup.
